THE LIE THAT'S KEEPING YOUR MARRIAGE STUCK IS... THAT MARRIAGE SHOULD BE 50/50. IT'S EXHAUSTING AND IT DOESN'T WORK.

I used to be the one who always kept score. I thought that making sure everything was fair meant protecting myself, that if I carried my weight, he had to carry his too. What I didn’t see at the time was how it pulled us further apart. Because when you’re keeping score, you’re not actually connecting… you’re bracing for who will drop the ball next. So I stopped. I stopped waiting for him to go first, for the apology, the proof, for the perfect 50/50 split that rarely happens in real life. I decided to show up like the partner I wanted to be, even when it scared me that he wouldn’t meet me there. And that’s when things shifted, not overnight, but in the way we started breathing easier around each other, in the way laughter came back into the room, in the way resentment started to fade. ⁣ FAIRNESS isn’t 50/50. Sometimes it’s both people giving what they’ve got in that moment. And for us, that was enough to change everything.⁣ love you @danmartell. What does showing up 100% look like for you and your person?
