Belege
  • Ausreißer-Faktor 1.31x über Account-Median
  • Titel enthält konkrete Zahl im Hook (37.782€)
  • Thumbnail zeigt Zahl dominant plus Luxus-Setting (Yachten, Paar)

We’ve had our house on Mallorca for 5 months now, and when I zoom out just a little, I realize that every single day I get to live the exact life that was on my vision board 12 months ago. And a question I get asked over and over again is: Tim, how expensive is this life, really? Before I show you all the numbers, there is one thing I want to emphasize. For me, it’s not about having as much money as possible. Of course money is important, don't get me wrong. It gives me freedom, opportunities, and allows me to experience things I am incredibly grateful for. But for me, money is just a tool, as cliché as that may sound. It comes, it goes, it gets invested; it creates experiences, memories, time, and opportunities for me and my loved ones. I don't want to possess as much money as possible; I want to create as much life with it as possible. Or as Bill Perkins, the author of Die With Zero, aptly put it: The goal isn't to die with the most money. It's to turn as much of it as possible into life worth remembering. And that is exactly how I try to view money today, not as a number I need to grow, but as a tool to create as much life as I can. So, I sat down for an entire night, pulled out all my expenses from the last 5 months, and categorized them with cloud software. And what can I say? The monthly expenses in euros are a crazy amount of money. But that is exactly why I'm making this video, not to show you how much I can spend, but to be transparent about what my life looks like today and perhaps how much a life can change within just a few months. And one thing is important for me to stress: don't compare yourselves to others on the outside. With others, you usually only see the result, but not the years leading up to it, the decisions, the mistakes, the risks, and the phases where it didn't look like this result would ever be possible. Don't use the lives of others as proof that you are behind, but as proof that change is possible for you, too. So, enjoy the vlog. An eternity later. A beautiful Dude, you're always here so early, ever since you've been living here, right? Is it just relaxing now, or what ? Mallorca lifestyle. After 5 months, I have to say, it still feels like a vacation every day. But no, you also have to get things done. I was just in the shower, but you really are always here very early. Let's get inside first . Okay, easy. Been working on Clord all night long, piecing it together, because we've got something really cool planned for today . Prepared the video deep into the night today. I’ve gone through all my expenses from the last five months since we’ve been living in Mallorca and listed exactly what life here actually costs, including the house, lifestyle, dining out, and so on, because I've received so many questions about it. I’ve put it all together, analyzed it, and categorized it, and I want to show you everything today. Um, I’m excited, so I’m going to get dressed first and then we’ll get started. Oh, I always have this problem when you have three closets. I have to check in the other room. This is crazy. These are first-world problems, for sure. So, a quick heads-up: I looked into my costs in detail and realized how complex and difficult it actually is to list it all out: what’s really monthly, what was a one-time expense, and where are costs that might be covered by the company but are also used for personal reasons, and so on. That’s why I wrote down a few rules. I want to give you some context on how I put this list together. So, point number one: personal versus business. Some of the expenses listed are partially business-related or are partially covered by my company. I will always mark those expenses with a little asterisk here or here. But it’s important to me that I’ve listed almost exclusively personal expenses, but I haven't broken down in detail which part of some expenses might have been partly business or partly private. This applies, for example, to business dinners or certain trips and flights. It might happen that I flew somewhere privately, had an appointment, and then flew back on business. In this video, I want to focus on listing my personal or lifestyle-related expenses, especially those that arose from my life here in Mallorca. Purely business expenses were not taken into account at all. So, employees, or the camera I use, software, marketing, and other things are, of course, not included in this breakdown. With some costs, and it’s important to say this too, the lines are so blurred that it’s super hard as an entrepreneur to separate them completely. And I think it’s just important to mention that again. Point number two: expenses I have in Germany are not included here. I am deliberately listing only the expenses for my life in Mallorca, and I have excluded expenses that are attributable to Germany. This includes, for example, my apartment or rent in Germany or my car there, which is currently being driven by a friend of mine, insurance, or ongoing contracts that only have to do with my life in Germany. I’ve simply taken that out because I have two places of residence, and it’s super difficult to break that down properly. Hence the focus here on Mallorca. Point number 3: there are a few, but some shared costs that I have with Janet. Some costs for us are also partially covered by Janet, and for certain expenses, we regularly take turns. That means sometimes one pays the rent, and sometimes the other pays the rent. And these figures don't necessarily reflect only my expenses. The expenses that I share with Janet in some way, which are covered by her, there are two or three of those. I have marked those as well. There are two asterisks behind them, just so you know . Point number 4: Averages instead of exact monthly statements. Some of the costs fluctuate significantly from month to month, which is quite normal. That’s why I partly work with realistic monthly averages, especially for restaurants, travel, flights, shopping, and such things. However, I have also provided a realistic estimate at the end to smooth out such spikes. This means you get my actual costs from the last few months, but also an adjusted value where I calculate out all the one-off purchases. Point number 5: The whole thing is a snapshot in time. The figures relate to my current life situation and are not a general statement about what it costs to live in Mallorca. You can, of course, live much more cheaply here. Some people also manage to live more expensively here. I simply took the average of the weeks I’ve been here since April. And maybe good to know, not every luxury is a Mallorca cost item. Yes, so travel or some luxury goods like the watch I bought come from my personal lifestyle and not because I am basically in Mallorca and everything is so expensive here. Yes, the video therefore primarily shows what my life in Mallorca costs and not how much money you need to live in Mallorca. So, enjoy . Let’s start with cost block number 1: housing and fixed costs. So, the most important thing, of course, is our house here. We rented the house for a year. Um, the rent here is € 6,000 every single month. What I have to add is that the house is actually almost completely furnished. We bought a few pieces of furniture ourselves. Uh, and it includes Wi-Fi, a gardener, and other things that belong to it. So, it is very comfortable in terms of rent. I must also say, the rent is actually the biggest cost block that I share regularly with Janet. More on that in a moment. Then we have rental incidental costs like agency fees and other things that are added on top, which are about € 1,000. That means the house costs us about € 7,000 a month. Then we have electricity for € 159.36. Mobile phone for € 79.35. Then our cleaner here. We have two cleaners who help us here. That's another € 300. Then we have a personal PA here on site. She is paid for by Janet, which is why I haven't listed her. Um, then the car we have here; I left my car in Germany, so I didn't include that, and we use Janet's car here, so I have no car costs. I do cover car maintenance and repairs, however, and have paid € 234 so far. And then we have the gym for € 49.50 and other private subscriptions, memberships, YouTube, Netflix, member clubs, and so on for € 104.56; that totals € 7,926.77. € for living and fixed costs. As I said, that is based on the € 6,000 rent. Assuming that Janet pays one month and I pay the next, we have realistic fixed costs on my side of about € 4,000 to € 5,000 per month. That's our gardener here. Honestly, we somehow underestimated that, so the bigger your house and responsibilities in life become, the more people you suddenly have involved. We now have a gardener. We have—Janet has her PA in Germany. I have my PA in Germany. We have a Mallorca PA. We have two cleaners here or household assistants, people who help out in some way, and eventually you build up such a team, and of course it’s a huge cost block, but as an entrepreneur you realize that everything is a resource you can delegate. But the only resource that is truly, severely limited is your time. You only have 24 hours, and when you realize, hey, I’m sleeping, I’m sleeping for so long, or you’re just hanging out in bed longer, the quality time we spend together, or that you have for yourself, suddenly becomes worth so much more when you see how intensely everything you invest can compound. for your business, for investments, and things like that, and that if you can pay someone else 30, 50, 100 dollars an hour to take the work and the burden off your shoulders and give you peace of mind. It’s one of the most valuable things you can possibly do. And often we don’t do the shopping ourselves or we let others do things. Yeah, if some shelf needs to be built or, I don't know, the pool needs to be cleaned or something, we don’t do that ourselves anymore. And I don't want to come across as arrogant or give off that kind of vibe. Like, hey, you don’t do anything yourself anymore. I cooked here last night, and we still do many things ourselves, but as soon as you realize that your time is limited and you could better invest it elsewhere because it benefits you or your company. for example, moving things forward, then you realize how incredibly much sense it makes to outsource things. And that was one thing I learned very early on, to think in terms of opportunity costs and to realize: the more time you spend in the kitchen or with housework or cleaning or running errands, the less time you have to invest in the things that really compound in your life, right? Sleep, exercise, quality time, time with your loved ones, or just working on the business. Making a quick breakfast. I have my next call in a minute, and then my call marathon begins. That means before we continue with our errands today—and I’ll actually be taking care of some of those myself today—we still have to work a bit, so I have, I think, five calls or so in a row. I’m speaking with my business partner now, then I have a call with Kamia, then I have a call together with Janet regarding a keynote that’s coming up soon. Then I have a call with my media team, and then I have a call with my personal trainers. So, quite a bit coming up, back-to-back meetings. We're making a bowl with buckwheat, flakes, banana, raspberries, and honey. Save the gains and then we jump into the conversations and then I would say, what should I say ? I would say, what should I say? What would you say? What are my monthly expenses, you know me a little bit, but you also follow my lifestyle a bit on social media. What would you say I spend monthly? Like, privately? I would say 13k a month. That would, that would be nice. Yeah. Where at what point do you say that's intense, that it's really compounded and that's the number one reason why you do the event? So, first four calls are done. Also, meanwhile quickly put food in the oven. Five packages also arrived at the same time today. Fashion expenses. Does that belong exactly. I was just about to say, does that also belong to it. Coming to that in a bit. And very important, unpaid advertisement or rather. I didn't pay for this, but I didn't get any money for it either. Oh, that looks quite liquid. Shoutout to David, Andrej, so David Rost, Andre Schöle, and also to Timo, that we are provided again. I have to get back into the next call now. I have my weekly check-in with my personal trainers now. I'll quickly scarf down the food I prepped yesterday while doing that, and then something will happen for you guys. Then we'll show you again, what we'll go back into the cost table. Very cool. Goes. Dude, call marathon today. Luckily, I prepped food and have it ready here. So, call call call marathon over. We made it. I just told Leon. We shot some of the vlog this morning somehow. I had calls the whole time and ate something in between. Now we have to run more errands and then we're busy until 6 p.m. On days like these, I always notice how hard it is for me to work if I can't work through things concentrated for at least an hour. Because my job, I don't have to do much operative work, but you have so many things you can delegate where people need feedback, where you have to approve things and so on. And it really hinders my workflow when you have to do things the whole time and can't just take 20 minutes to answer Slack messages and WhatsApp stuff, because that is actually, in a way, my main job . You have to communicate with your people all the time somehow. Yes. Well, we'll do this quickly now, and then, very importantly, we'll show you a few more things. We're taking care of a few errands today. Um, grocery shopping, car washing, and all the things I don't usually do that often. But a few things have piled up, so we're getting them done now, and then we can show you a little bit about what things cost here in Mallorca. Coffee for now, by the way, right? A nice coffee here is actually affordable. Espresso is 2 €, a doppio is 3.20 € , it's generally, um, yeah, affordable, I'd say. Hey. Half a tank of V, what do you call it here? V-Power. I have no idea about such things. Yeah. Uh, 105 € and here are four free plays from the fair. There we go. So, let's get to cost point number two, which is everyday life and lifestyle. Um, grocery store shopping 423.82 €, butcher shop 33.41 €. I actually try, either myself or our assistant, to always go to a fresh butcher and always get great meat, organic quality. Restaurants for us are about 2,393.53 €. We go out for good meals three or four times a week, and then you're often out with more people, inviting people over and so on. That's often a major expense. Um, coffees 291.20 €, it's just one or two coffees every day, uh, it adds up over time. Uh, refueling. We just paid 105 € for half a tank, but we really don't drive much here anyway. 156.73 €, car wash 4 €. We just used a few coins, also 4 € once a month, usually a haircut once a month 40 €. Padel, tennis, sports, miscellaneous, golf, and so on, I have another 84 € a month. Personal training is my tennis coaching sessions , which I have twice a month for 90 € , so 180 €, therapy three times a month for me, so psychotherapy. I have a German psychologist here whom I see about every 10 days. That's another 600 € a month. Then Jan and I go for a massage every week. Massage, recovery, 300 €. Supplements and sports nutrition I don't really pay anything for, since I get everything from ESN and More, but I also have health supplements that aren't at ESN and More , so I just order them somewhere else if I get them from my doctors or something like that. I've spent about 78.43 € monthly on supplements over the last few months. Leisure, activities, and other things we do. We were recently at the water park, cost about 168.30 €. Clothes, I don't really do much shopping for that. Like I said, a package just arrived, but otherwise I go into town and just buy basic stuff. 586.32 €. But in the next category, we'll get to luxury items and things that aren't for regular outfits. Then we have drugstore and household goods, € 59.43. Then I have dentist and beauty treatments. For example, I had my teeth bleached or I'm currently using Invisalign, so I have all those trays; I've spent several thousand euros on dentists over the last few months. That averaged out to about € 1,600 per month for dentist and beauty treatments. Personal trainer for my brother, € 1,000 a month, and other expenses for household and furniture. Of course, when we first moved into the house, we bought some furniture and things like that. That averaged another € 578.39 over the last few months. That brings the total for everyday life and lifestyle to another € 8,958 per month. I would say that's adjusted, though, because I don't get my teeth bleached every month or use Invisalign—you only do that once in a lifetime. And sometimes there are restaurant expenses that are sort of half business-related. I would say that's a realistic estimate, right: we don't buy new furniture every month either. These are just things that happened to come up; I'd say a more realistic estimate for lifestyle, leisure, and daily stuff is about € 7,000, or I'm adding that too. So, we still have to check all the prices here . Let's grab a beer in a bit, yeah? Exactly. Friday afternoon to settle in. Sure. the same hairstyle for 10 years, but usually when I get out, I always do a bit of bangs. I can wear it for a few days, but right now it's too much. Yeah , but when there's a bit of a cut, I always wear bangs for three or four days. I like that too, but like this for a long time eventually, when I have real receding hairlines, then I'll only wear bangs, it's coming slowly, right? I tell you one thing: raspberries in Spain. Wow, wow, wow, wow, wow, wow, wow. Help! Different level. Help. The fruit and vegetables are very , very nice. Look at how much selection there is. I have never been to this supermarket before, but it's super clean. Yeah, look at these tomatoes. Yeah, those look really, those are really well prepared. Dude, they're going to slap. Lovely. Lots of sugar in there, Carlos. Quite a lot of sugar, Carlos. Well, it's still quite expensive here, but at Mercadona, the supermarket where I usually shop, a kilo of fresh salmon from the counter costs € 11. So salmon fillets, € 11 for a whole kilo, that's really cheap. And chicken, I think I paid € 5 per kilo recently. I'm not sure if it's all organic quality, but it's crazy. That's good and from the meat counter too, right? Five bucks for a kilo of chicken. Yeah, that's crazy. Insane. Right, that's that. Because nobody comes to the meat counter. I think they're usually packed fresh here too. A tip, if you're in Spain, you go shopping, you order " filet", then fillets of Angus or whatever are like tiny little things, basically like chops. But you have to, if you want filet steak, it's called "solomillo" in Spanish, meaning you always have to order " solomillo" if you want filet. Mhm. Costs € 53 here. Per kilo. It's exactly the same as over there. So we can just get it here. Getting a kilo of filet steak here is similar to the butcher's. I think at the butcher's it costs about € 55 per kilo. Yeah, it's all the same, no difference. Look, also filet steak. That steak costs € 65 per kilo. Yeah, quality-wise there's no huge difference , I'd say. Right, and then we'll get some chicken. Look here. 1 kg of chicken. Price per kilo, 6.75. Yeah, but no animal welfare. That's welfare level zero. Really? So that is uh Yes. Yeah, we can't take that. 173.47 Euros, okay for half a week's groceries or something, right? I would say. Usually, I do my grocery shopping and butcher runs separately. Then I'm usually at like 70, 80 € for groceries, 70, 80 € for the butcher. Yeah, it fits. It actually fits, it fits quite well. Yeah, or 70 to 100 € for groceries and butcher respectively, so 170 total. Works out pretty well. Yes, now we had everything in one go, but we also got octopus, salmon, chicken, filet steaks, fresh fruit, fresh vegetables. Actually, the most important things. So, the most important things, all errands done. Packed the flowers and at this point, of course, I mean, I spend a lot of money. I probably spend a bit or quite a bit more in our household than Janet. But I definitely have to give a shoutout, for example, that I can use her car too. And it's a huge privilege, of course, that we both, um, yeah, that we both earn good money and can afford a cool life, and that we can afford a great house together, uh, that we can drive this car, that we can go to the supermarket and buy whatever we want, that we can go to great restaurants and go on vacation and all those things. And, um, yes, that is for one thing not something I take for granted in my life , and it's even less of a given that you can share that with each other and that we both put everything into the relationship and benefit so much from one another. And, um, that's why it's so nice that Janet says, "So, the Porsche is our car," and that is, of course, a huge privilege, and I am incredibly grateful that we can share that together. And that's why it's also part of it: Tomorrow I have a date day planned, we'll go have something nice to eat and do a few other things I've organized, bring flowers, like, that is the energy you put into a relationship, and you get the same back in return. It doesn't matter if it's with your girlfriend or boyfriend, but also in a business relationship with clients or your best friends. So, the world is a mirror. This energy always comes back. So. Ah, for me. Yes, sweet. Thanks. Hello, I'm off again and there's a reason, because we're going for a run now, because Tim has commanded me that we're going to run a half-marathon together this year. Commanded. And yes, or rather, we actually had yearly goals. At the start of the year, the goal was to run 10 km. We already did that together about a month and a half later. Now the next goal is a half-marathon. I have never run more than 11 km in my life and we are training for that twice a week. Last time we ran 11 km for the first time. Yes, exactly. And now I said, we need a new goal. Exactly. We've already set our money goals. We've already reached our house goal. We're already driving our dream car. So , dream body attack. We are training for a half-marathon now. And now we come to category number 3. Travel and luxury. I looked at flights from Mallorca to Düsseldorf, to travel back and forth from Mallorca to Germany. 932 €. Other flights. We have booked a lot of flights and trips now. € 2,398 . flying to America now and other trips , those really added up significantly. Um, I've marked those expenses with an X because some of them are business-related. Then hotels 3876.43 €, taxi and Uber € 321.85, private insurance is mainly my private health insurance € 1238.43. Tech and devices isn't much, because I can actually pay for almost everything through the company. € 129.73, those are sometimes like kitchen appliances or something from Amazon. And then I have luxury goods and gifts. I bought a watch recently. Yes, and I uh now some kind of gift for Nico or a birthday present for you and so on. I've spent an average of € 12,000 on that in the last few months, but my watch weighs heavily on that. That means those luxury, travel, and vacation things are another 20897.73 €. But you have to say that some things, like trips and such, are often business-related and uh I don't buy a new watch every week. That's why I think that travel and luxury stuff is more like € 10,000 on average. It bothers me a lot, that is quite a lot. That means the total I also pay for things, that comes on top. That means the total sum is 37722.52 €. Again, those were some expenses that I don't think were super representative of the last few months. That's why I assume a normal month is around 22 to 25,000 or something like that, which is already really uh great a lot of money. Yes, I said it at the beginning, this is of course not representative, but many of you want to know how it is. And I thought, well I calculated it for myself now and I was really shocked myself. Yes, friends, I wanted to take a moment to express my gratitude primarily for the fact that I and we even have the opportunity to live such a life and spend such an incredibly large amount of money. somehow have the opportunities to be able to spend it and enjoy life. I know that it is absolutely not a given and is also not at all representative and um yes, therefore just show deepest gratitude at this point. I think we often use the time to look at our lives and realize that this is absolutely not normal. knowing full well that we worked for it ourselves, which is just a great feeling when you have the time to really enjoy it. But nonetheless, I have to say: We were jogging here last Sunday and there was this moment where I just thought, "Man, life is awesome!" Because when you're out here with the right people in the right places, getting some exercise, those are actually the moments where you have the most enjoyment and the most gratitude for life in general. And it's rarely the moments where you're spending a lot of money somewhere. That's why I don't think money is the biggest factor in having a fulfilled life. And so I'm happy that we can get a little exercise now, and maybe you can use this time to write in the comments where I should save a little money. Um, and then maybe we'll do this again in half a year, or three-quarters of a year. Then I hope that we have a one in front again somehow. Like 19,000 or something left. 1,000 saved. Alright, then tune in again next Friday. Do you want to say anything? Bye. Bye.
