Your personal brand is not a group project. Someone asked me: “What happens when you want to include a business partner’s perspective in your personal brand?” My answer? It’s not *people* branding. It’s *personal* branding. One person. Your entire life is already built around compromise. What your clients want. What your partner wants. What your kids want. Where to go. What to eat. What to say. So ask yourself: Do you really want to compromise on who you are, too? Other people can contribute to the business. They can disagree with you. They can have their own point of view. But they don’t get to define you. Here’s the rule I try to live by: If making you happy requires me to stop being me, I’m not interested. Your personal brand should sound like you. Think like you. Believe like you. Otherwise, whose brand are you building?

How would you go from a personal brand to including another person's perspective, like of a, um, business partner or somebody else? I don't look for anyone else to define who I am. It's not people branding, it's person, one person. I'll tell you something, all of your life is built with compromises. What your children want to eat, where your partner wants to go, what your clients want to do. Do you really want another person to tell you who you should be in this life? I don't. Got it. I want 0% of the people to tell me what to do in my life. So I have this idea, this philosophy, and it, it hurts people, and I get that. But, you know, I don't care, and I'll tell you my philosophy. If making you happy robs me of being me, I'm not gonna do it. I have zero interest in that
