Split ScreenTutorial / How-toHook: frage45-90sProduktion: mittelUntertitel: einwort karaokeKonfidenz hoch

How do you read? Here's a book. Tell me about how you read so you retain. Are you highlighting? Are you putting notes? Uh, what are you doing so that you can learn better? The first thing that I do is make sure that I'm ready to read. This is probably the single most important thing that you can do to read and consume and, and consolidate information faster. If we were facing each other in person right now, I'm holding this pen, and I just go, "Hey, Chris, catch," and I just throw this pen at your face. I don't know if you're, like, a secretly this super high-performance athlete, but you're probably not gonna be able to catch the pen because you're not ready. So you cannot just throw information at your brain and expect it to be able to catch it and know what to do with it when it's not ready. So the first thing that I'm gonna do when I read through the book, I'm gonna skim through the headings. I'm gonna skim through all the different titles. I'm gonna pick out some keywords. I'm actually gonna write that down, just a list of all the keywords and the key terms. I'm gonna look at that list, and I'm gonna ask myself, "Which of these terms do I feel more familiar with?" I'm actually gonna make predictions about what I think the book is gonna teach me. I'm gonna ask myself questions. I'm gonna think about that until I feel like my brain is starving for information. It just wants to know these answers to the questions that I have. But if I don't have a question and I don't have a clear focus or goal of why I'm reading this, why I'm consuming it, what my frame of mind needs to be, then I'm probably not gonna get anything out of it
