Belege
  • Ausreisser-Faktor 1.07x, also im Median des Accounts
  • rote Warnbox als Hook-Overlay: IF YOU'RE GOING THROUGH A HARD TIME WATCH THIS

Shiny object syndrome isnt a lack of focus, its a lack of fortitude. We come to some hard problem we dont know how to solve and rather than confront that problem, we try and go back to problems we know how to solve with a new business…doomed to repeat until we learn embrace the hardship of figuring it out. Which just looks like not knowing, and continuing to be wrong with your best bad ideas, until you have no more bad ideas to try and all your left with are good ones that actually work.

I'm in real estate. We are at seven hundred and fifty thousand dollars. We have listings, they're just not selling. Okay. Feels like the market has kind of dried up a lot. A lot of our competitors have left the market. We may have to do a slight pivot too. So, um- Jet skis, hear me out. Um, during this time period, would it kinda make sense to maybe kind of go into advisory services as the market rebounds? What do you think I'm gonna say? I gotta stick, stick with the main business? Just do a lot more. I have a lot of heart for you 'cause I get, I get how it can be difficult right now, and like I make, I make light of it, but like, like it sucks. Shit sucks all the time. It's, it's, it's not fun, and the work, the work doesn't give a fuck. It's you or it's the next guy, but the work is there, and the deal is there, and it's just who's gonna do it. It just comes down to that. And you have reliable numbers, so you just don't like them. Yes, I don't like them. Think about how silly this is. If you just did your existing volume, and you pitched everyone low, just like a buyer would, you said we could do a deal every other week, right? Mm-hmm. But that's with your existing resources. There's nothing that st-- Like, if I, if I'm you- Mm-hmm ... and I wanna fucking win, which is how I like to play, then I would say, "What stops me from having ten other people who can dial for me? If we have ten times the people, we can do five deals a week at the prices that we're talking about." So it's just like we don't like the answer of the work it takes to do more, and so we think, "I'm gonna do something easier." But then you're gonna get into like, you come back in six months and be like, "So I've got this advisory thing, but I also have this brokerage. But now the market's starting to turn around, but I, but I have all these promises that these people, but..." And so you're, you're gonna be caught because now you're like, "Wait, this is actually a different business. And this actually doesn't scale as well because they need this expertise, and I'm the only one who has it. Now I'm key man in this business, and wait, but like these, when these deals close, it's like these advisory things will almost mean nothing to me." Yeah, that's true. Right. And wouldn't it be so much more compelling to say that you fucking won when the market was shrinking? Yeah. Right. So like if you can do me one favor, do not talk about the market again because you can't control it. There's supply and demand. There's not enough, so we gotta jack this up to get what we want. And I say that out loud 'cause I want you to win. Got it. Thank you.
