Kontraintuitive Rechts-These + Erklärung

Beschreibung

When someone goes out of their way to personally wrong you, you only have one move left—win anyways. Because for the rest of time…you get to be you and they have to be them. No fairer justice exists.

My husband bought a franchise location, but the previous owner had secretly been taking customer payments without shipping anything. Jesus. Invoicing customers, collecting money, and then voiding the invoices to hide it. Oh god. >> What's wrong with people? >> Now, about 60 businesses are suing over this. The location's reputation is likely unsalvageable. >> [clears throat] >> My husband wants to sue the previous owner. What should we do first? Man, it's going to be tough. The bad news first is that even if you [music] do sue, cuz some people think that like, "Oh, if I sue them, I'll get my money back." It's like, you only get the money back if that person has the money, and that amount of money divided by the other 60 people suing them is enough to make you whole, which is unlikely. Cuz either they blew it, or that number divided by 60 is not what you spent. >> It's also like, okay, it's going to take 2 years minimum to sue them and get the money. How can you even sustain the legal fees for the 2 years leading up to that to pay lawyers? >> And are you going to live your life in a holding pattern? >> Yeah. >> Like, I like I would say that how like how I would actually handle this is I would probably take my licks, learn from the lesson, and then just say like, "I'm going to be that much bigger, and like I will shrink you into irrelevance." So like this problem, though [music] large for me now, the future version of me with the amount of action I'm going to take as a result of this very negative thing is going to make this loss feel inconsequential in the future. And it's the only frame that I think is really helped me.
