Belege
  • Ausreißer-Faktor 0.69x, also unterdurchschnittlich für diesen Account

„Being a divorce lawyer for 25-plus years, the question people most often ask me is, "Do you believe in love?"“

Titel-/Hook-Muster

Berufs-Insider + provokante Frage + philosophische Antwort

Thema

James Sexton has watched more marriages end than most of us have watched begin. He might also be the most romantic person I've had on this show. Full episode with divorce attorney James Sexton is out now on BigDeal.

Being a divorce lawyer for 25-plus years, the question people most often ask me is, "Do you believe in love? Do you believe in romantic love?" And I have to tell you, it strikes me as the silliest question. It's like someone saying, "Do you believe in gravity?" Hmm. I don't have to believe in gravity. It's there. It exists all around me. Love is really everything. It's the only thing that really matters to any of us. Like, I genuinely believe that. All of these other things are just symbols of our desire to be loved and to be worthy of love. All of these accomplishments are just ways that we're trying to tell the world that we're worthy of love. Like, that's really all they are. Like, they really are just things we do so that someone we respect and care about says, "I'm so proud of you." Like, what feels better than someone saying, "Hoo, you wrote this book. I'm so proud of you"?
