Last week I had a call with a personal brand who had over 20,000 followers on Instagram. When I found out how little revenue she actually generates from it, I was really shocked. Shocked because many entrepreneurs invest energy and time in content, but their business doesn't actually scale that drastically as a result, and sometimes it's simply one or two mechanisms that are really missing to drastically scale the business . For example, we started working with a personal brand 7 months ago , built the company from scratch and last month we surpassed one million in monthly revenue for the first time. And the video breaks down a few things that need to be changed, step by step , showing what the person can do to generate really good revenue from their followers and scale sustainably and drastically. And that's why it's really important to build a following, which is really cool, and the personal market and personal branding are also very cool and important things. Yes, but you still need to figure out how to meaningfully build and re-engage with your brand and the business behind it, because followers alone don't pay you anything, they don't finance a house for you, they don't buy you a car, you can't eat food with them. And that's why I can't say that with 10,000 followers, Hartbeat, where I am the personal brand, consistently generates over 1 million euros in order volume every month for several months. And that's why it's about understanding how the mechanism works and how to actually build smart content. For example, this person was, okay, she was a lawyer, as already mentioned, and she had followers; she mainly made B2C content. That means she created content that a normal consumer would enjoy consuming. It was related to legal topics, and she wasn't sure and thought, ah, the content I create isn't generating enough revenue for me. Should I adjust my content strategy now, or is it perhaps something else? And I said, first of all, I would say it's something else. So, she has an extremely broad content strategy, where she essentially appeals to B2C and everyone else. And what I said to her is, there are three ways to really scale the company sustainably. And one of the three doors must be passed through . The first point is that she continues to create B2C content. More B2C content. But then she leaves because her business is a B2B business, she runs B2B ads, and with these B2B ads that she runs, she targets her own followers. Of course, there might be others, but she has a specific offer that she is promoting to her followers. For example, as a lawyer, you can advertise that you help entrepreneurs with debt collection on a success basis in order to efficiently acquire new customers. But you can also do completely different things, simply by focusing specifically on the problems entrepreneurs have and addressing them in marketing, perhaps by providing them with something free that they can download or offering some kind of advice. Anyway, that's it, then there's a salting process, and then it's sold. So, so, this is the big process, the simple process. This process only makes sense if we consider the lead prices we have, i.e., when we run ads, we have lead prices that result. If this person generates extremely cheap and good leads, much better than without a personal brand, then the effort pays off, because they are creating a lot of B2C content that is broad and appeals to all kinds of people. But with 100,000 followers, realistically, there will be at least 10,000 people who are self-employed or have a business. And then, if it is significantly cheaper, this is a potentially sensible option. However, it could also be that another approach might make more sense. If the person now says, okay, I'm in love with my law firm and I absolutely want to continue running my law firm, then if option 1 is not successful enough, option 2 might make more sense . Specifically, one moves away from B2C content and starts making B2B content . What you have to get used to, however, is that you will have far fewer views, you will be able to go to far fewer real places , but you can make good revenue with few views. Let me give you an example. One of our clients is an M& consultant; his YouTube videos sometimes get 50 to 200 views, but he generates so much revenue with them because he gets the right customer inquiries, and these videos require very little production effort. I think he makes a YouTube video once a week, and that generates five to eight inquiries roundabout per week as an M&A consultant, where he sometimes makes €100,000 to €200,000 in revenue with a real client. That means B2B content is a very good fit for B2B business. But you have to put your ego aside and say, "I'm just getting far fewer views." Yes, and the B2B content game works differently, and then you can, if you want, run ads, although it's not absolutely necessary, but you can, because it's effective, and then you can use B2B content as a separate channel and ads as a separate channel, and that always goes into the sales process, and then I only generate B2B leads with that. That can also make sense. I'd say if I had 100,000 followers, and those are actually cool followers who really like to follow me, and I'm extremely good at B2C content, and I know how to go viral, and I already have those skills, and that's my ability. Personally, I would say, okay, I'll just screw my current business, the B2B business I have. I don't give a damn , I'm not doing that anymore and I'm concentrating on what this is? And I'll continue creating B2C content. Yes, I'll continue creating BC content and I'm considering or collaborating with someone who can show me what a cool business could be for my B2C, for my B2C audience, because I can tell you, with 100,000 followers who are really into you, you can build a really cool company . With the right followers, that's certainly possible . You can probably make €200,000 in revenue per month with it, maybe €300,000, maybe €500,000. It depends on how good you are at business, how well you can monetize, and how well everything else goes. But I can tell you, if you have that skill, then it might make more sense . And I would advise almost everyone to build a B2C business, because if you have a reach channel that really works well, it's a really good lever in your business, much more so than some small wannabe business that's actually a hobby. And that's why it can make sense to make the change there, but it always depends on what you want, what your personal preferences are, and what your personal vision of life and business is . And therefore, if the path is to perhaps continue with B2C content first, the easiest and simplest thing to do, if you are in love with your B2B business, is to test ads. And if that doesn't work because the ads are unnecessarily expensive, just like everyone else's, you have to make a clear decision. Do I change my content strategy or do I change my business? And I would argue that if the business is very small but the content strategy is already working well, you might be further along in the content than in the business and should change the business. And since we have just scaled a personal brand from 0 to one million in monthly revenue within 7 months, we are currently actively in discussions about adding another personal brand to our portfolio. And I can tell you one thing, we can really scale businesses very well when it comes to personal brands all around. That means if you feel addressed, if you have a cool reach and would like to build an awesome business around yourself and have a really great financial life, want freedom and want to fully concentrate on content, just write to me on Instagram and then we can jump into a call together . I'll discuss everything with you , explain how I see your business, where you might need to change your business, or maybe your content strategy is perfect anyway, and then we can chat and see if we can find a cool partnership. Otherwise, you'll simply receive free added value from me on how to further scale your business. Yeah.
